World Premiere Fading Varnish

A composition with projections of photographs by Laura Konjetzky

Black Box at the Gasteig, Munich

February 1, 2013, at 8pm

“Fading Varnish” narrates in music the fantastic adventure of a grand piano in the wilderness.
At the beginning, the grand piano is a lost foreign matter. Later it becomes more and more a part of nature. Its sound and its music are changing and eventually gaining archaic nativeness.

A piece for piano solo, playback and additional instruments, in a light show with projections of photographs.

World Premiere Spaces.Structures.Changes

Composition Meets Choreography

As part of “Lautwechsel 2012” at the Einstein Cultural Centre in Munich, Germany

September 15, 2012, at 8pm

In 2009, pianist and composer Laura Konjetzky wrote her work for piano solo “landscapes.structure.spaces.”

In 2012 she developed – together with the dancer and choreographer Chantal Gagnebin – a revised, expanded version titled “Spaces.Structures.Changes.” It is also a piece for piano solo but includes choreographed movements for the pianist that will affect the audience’s listening experience.

Hence a new form of the solo piano recital is born from the merging of the perspective of the composer and pianist Laura Konjetzky with that of the dancer and choreographer Chantal Gagnebin.
